This year has taught me a few things, the most important being that we as living, breathing humans have absolutely nothing to do with when our children decided to come to us. There is something else, much bigger making those decisions for us. And, for the first time in my entire life, I had the "aha" moment that I needed. Mamush was suppose to be ours and all of the challenges we faced leading up to him made sense. Everything really does happen for a reason (though I would never in a million years say that out loud to a waiting family!) We opened our hearts to Ethiopia and boy did she fill us up.
As we enter into 2010 we are moving forward, fast paced, with No. 2 on board. After getting home in October and jet lag hanging on just a little too long, we found out that we are expecting. If your jaw just hit the floor, then you can only imagine what mine did! We are due in June and very excited to know that Mamush will be a big brother. Just another example of blessings arriving when they feel good and ready too.
May you all have a wonderful new year. May those of you waiting find peace in the idea that your child or children will come, in their own grace and glory.

Amazing. Everything happens for a reason and we are so happy for you. Much happiness and love for 2010!
Kate, my heart is afloat with love for your expanding family!!! my God! Praise God! Nothing could be finer than watching your beloved child become a big sib. What an incredible journey, girl. Journeys have a way of making the end product a wee bit better, i think. As families who worked hard to come together, i think that we just might have a bit more appreciation of what its all about. Not that others don't, but we have a different insight. Special. Did NOT feel lucky then, but it sure as heck does now. Just as the amazing news of Mamush's arrival into your life, this news of another Roberts baby will keep my heart light for days. Thanks, and CONGRATS!
Wonderful and exciting! Many congratulations!
Congrats on your growing family! How fun to know Mamush will be a big brother!!
