Where to start? Oey....
Busy, Busy. Projects, Projects, Projects. A very long to do list so we can enjoy Mamush when he comes home and not worry about this big, dated, house for a little while. This weekend, painting, way too much painting. Soon, windows (I hope), window treatments, wall papering, crown moulding, an island in the laundry room and some closet organizing. The list is not pretty!
Speaking of my sweet Mamush, the good news is that we have had the most amazing last few weeks! To our families that call constantly to let us know that they think he is so, so handsome, thank you! To my girlfriends that cried when I called to let them know, thank you! To my dear friend Steph who sent Mamush his first package, you are the best! To Judy who mailed a perfect pair (Bert & Erinie), you make me laugh! To a new friend, Cheryl, who thought we would find each other and get to share in this journey? Tiff & Jess, you are my rocks...OK, maybe more like boulders? We have shared in so many well wishes its been nothing short of amazing and I can't thank you enough for all of the support and prayers!
Speaking of prayers....Unfortunately we recently learned of some news that is not helping us get through court any faster. In order to receive a court date, the Ethiopian government ministry in charge of women and children’s affairs (MOWA) has to issue a letter to the courts, once the courts have the letter, we are issued a court date. Apparently the MOWA is closing for training. We are unsure of dates, but it looks like they will be closing before the courts close and for two weeks. I guess closing for training while the courts are CLOSED is too much to ask for! Chad and I are hopeful that we will receive the letter we need to move forward and get through court before the rain. If we don't, chances of getting through court in time are very slim. I do feel like our agency is trying to do anything and everything to get a handle on this, we are just not sure when we will hear anything.
As you can imagine, this is not the news we want. We are trying to stay hopeful and positive, but once again we need to resort to begging for your prayers! In the mean time, we are going to get "stuff" done and maybe drink a few margaritas!
